Tomato Omelet Recipe – How to make Tomato Omelet?

Let’s add another recipe to our breakfast recipes. It is also one of the easy breakfast recipes.

Mostly it is made in South India for breakfast.

Ingredients –

  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 4 green chillies
  • Coriander
  • Turmeric powder
  • 1/3 teas spoon salt
  • 2 table spoon of basan
  • 1 table spoon rise flour
  • Oil

 

Procedure –

1)      Chop tomatoes, onion, green chillies and coriander.

2)      Mix well and add turmeric powder and salt. Again mix thoroughly.

3)      Add basan and rice flour. Add little water.

4)      Consistency of the mixture should be medium.

5)      Put frying pan on the gas. When pan is hot, spread 2-3 tea spoon oil on the pan.

6)      Take 1 table spoon of the mixture and spread it on the pan (like dosa)

7)      Add little oil drops on the omelette from the above.

8)      When it is golden brown from the bottom, turn the upside down. Add oil drops from above.

9)      Fry enough to make it crispy.

10)   Hot Tomato Omelette is ready to serve.

11)   It can be served with the tomato ketchup or coconut chutney or both.

 

Note –

If pan is not hot enough, omelette may stick to pan.

Snacks for kids – How to make Paneer Cutlet? – Recipe of Paneer

Let’s make Sunday breakfast special with paneer recipe i.e. paneer cutlet.

We have seen how to make paneer at home as well. Let’s see ingredients required to make paneer cutlets.

Ingredients –

  • 200 gm of paneer
  • 4 smashed potatoes
  • 2 chopped onions
  • 5 bread slices
  • 1 cup chopped cabbage
  • 1 cup chopped coriander
  • Lemon juice (of 1 lemon)
  • 1 flat tea spoon salt
  • ½ cup Maida
  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • 5-6 green chilies (make paste)
  • Oil

Procedure –

1)      Add paneer, smashed potatoes, chopped onions, chopped cabbage, chopped coriander, chili paste, salt and lemon juice in vessel and mix well. Add salt as per taste.

2)      Make bread crumbs from 5 bread slices and add then in the above mixture.

3)      Create cutlets of the mixture in the shape and size you want.  Different shapes like heart, oval etc. are available in the market you can use those as well.

4)      Add little salt and water in the maida to make paste.

5)      Now first role the cutlet in maida paste and then in bread crumbs one by one and shallow fry them in the frying pan.

6)       When it is golden brown from all sides it is ready.

7)      Paneer cutlets can be served with tomato ketchup or coconut chutney.

So try Paneer Cutlets this Sunday (or basically whenever you have time J ).

How to make Paneer at Home? – Fresh Paneer (Indian Cheese)

If you want paneer, instead of going out and getting it from market, you can make it at home as well. It is very easy to make paneer.
Let’s see how to make paneer at home.

Ingredients –

Milk – 1 liter

Lemon juice of 1 lemon

Procedure –

You can see, the main ingredient is milk.

Keep the milk for boiling on the gas.

Once the milk starts boiling, add lemon juice to it.

After adding lemon, curd will start separating from milk. Now lower the flame.

In few minutes, curd will be separate from milk. Now turn off the flame and let it cool down.

Take clean cloth to filter out the paneer.

Now paneer is in the cloth.

Rinse it with water to remove bitterness of the lemon. Squeeze it to drain the water completely.

Fresh paneer i.e. indian cheese is ready to use.

You can shape it into cubes as well.

Note –

1)      From 1 liter milk you can make approximately 200 gm of paneer.

2)      15 ml of acetic acid can be used instead of lemon juice.

3)      More the fat contents of the milk better will be the taste of the paneer.

Dosa Recipe – How to make Moong Dal – Oats Dosa? – Healthy Snack

Dosa is made from rise batter. But today, we are going to learn how to make Moong Dal Dosa or Moong Dal – Oats Dosa.  Again it is healthy breakfast for kids.

Now let’s see the ingredient required to make Moong Dal – Oats Dosa.

Ingredients –

Moong Dal – 1 cup

Oats – ½ cup

Green Chilies – 2 (medium size)

Ginger – approximately 1/3 inch

Jeera – 1/3 teaspoon

Salt – as per taste

Butter

Procedure –

Now our ingredients are ready, let’s start making dosa.

1)      Soak the moong dal in water for approximately 4 hours.

2)      Fry the oats in pan without oil for 1-2 minutes.

3)      Now soaked moong dal, fired oats, green chilies, ginger and jeera, blend well in mixer.

4)      Add salt as per taste.

5)      Consistency of the mixture should be medium.

6)      Now our dosa mixture is ready.

7)      Put pan on gas. Apply some butter to pan.  Make round dosa on the pan.

8)      Make doas golden brown from the both side.

9)      Our Moong Dal – Oats Dosa is ready to serve.

10)   It can be served with tomato ketchup or coconut chutney.

Not much ingredients are required.  Preparation time is also less.

Note:

1)      Don’t worry if you don’t have oats. You can make it without oats as well.
2)      You can add fruit salt to our dosa mixture if you want to make dosa fluffier.

Carrot Soup: How to make Tasty Carrot Soup?

              This is one of the simple soup recipes. Carrots are available in the months of summer. Carrots are rich in vitamin A. Poor vision can be remedied by added vitamin A in the diet.

Not only is this soup tasty but healthy as well. So let’s see the ingredients to make tasty carrot soup.

Ingredients – 

Red Carrots

Carrots pieces – 1 cup

Potato pieces – ½ cup

Chopped Spinach – ½ cup

Butter

Onion – small

Salt

Black pepper

Procedure –

First chop the onion.

Now, in a pan, add butter, two tea spoons of chopped onion, carrot and potato pieces. Add pinch of salt.

Cook it on the steam for 5 minutes on the low flame. Then put this mixture in another vessel. Let it cool down.

Now, add little butter, one tea spoon of chopped onion and spinach. Cook it for two minutes. Then turn of the gas. Let the mixture cool down.

When the mixture of carrots and spinach is at room temperature, put both mixtures in the mixer and mix well.

Now add this thin mixture in another vessel. Add black pepper powder and salt as per taste.

Remember, we have already added salt in carrots and spinach. Hence be careful while adding salt this time.

Cook the mixture for two minutes. Keep the consistency of soup as you like.

Tasty carrot soup is ready. Spinach makes it more healthier. Serve hot.

Chopped carrot or boiled carrot strips can be added for garnishing.

Note: Try to get the red carrots. Red carrots are mostly sweet and also they add nice color to soup.

How to make Gulkand Barfi or Gulkand Sweet? – गुलकंदाची बर्फी

Gulkand is sweet preserve of rose petals. Gulkand has cooling properties. It reduces heat in the body. It improves appetite and digestion.

Now let’s see the ingredients required to make gulkand barfi or gulkand sweet.

Ingredients

Gulkand – 1 cup

Grated coconut – 1 (medium size)

Rava – 1 cup

Sugar – 1 cup

Powdered sugar – ½ cup

Milk – ½ cup

Fresh cream – ½ cup

Rose essence

Procedure –

Put karai (kadhai) on the gas.

Add gulkand, grated coconut, rava, sugar, milk and fresh cream to karai.

1 or 2 tea spoon of rose essence can added as per flavor.

Cook the mixture on the medium flame. Cook until mixture become thick so that you can make dough.

Once the mixture becomes thick, add 2-3 tea spoon of powdered sugar. Mix well and turn off the gas.

Now the mixture is ready to make barfi. Spread the mixture on the big plate while it is hot with the thickness you like (approximately 1-2 cm).

You can garnish it with desiccated coconut or dry fruits as you like.

After some time, when mixture is cooled, cut it into pieces.

Gulkand barfi or gulkand sweet is ready to serve.

Rose Sarbat: How to make Rose Sarbat?

When it comes to serve the sarbat to our guests, we get confuse and tense.  So lets make sarbat which is easy to make and everybody likes i.e. rose sarbat.

Ingredients:

Rose Petals – 50 gm

Citric Acid – 1/2 tea spoon

Rose Color (Food Color)

Rose Essence

Sugar – 1 Kg

Procedure:

Put rose petals to soak in one cup of water for 10 minutes.

Put vessel on gas. Add sugar and little water to make sugar syrup.

Add 1/2 tea spoon citric acid and rose petals.

Now add 1/2 tea spoon rose color, 1 tea spoon essence.

Cook this mixture for 10 minutes.

After mixture is cooled, store it in bottle. Rose sarbat is ready.

While serving, add one part of rose sarbat and three part of water.

Lemon-Ginger Sarbat: How to make Lemon-Ginger Sarbat?

Lemon sarbat with flavor of ginger i.e. lemon ginger sarbat. A Very refreshing beverage. Lets see how to make this sarbat.

Ingredients –

Lemons – 10

Ginger – 50 gm

Sugar – 800 gm

Yellow Color (Food Color)

Potassium Metabisulfite

Procedure –

First we will need to make lemon-ginger juice.

Take the juice from the lemons.

Peel the gingers and chop them into very small pieces.
Quantity of ginger should be approximately 3/4 the quantity of lemon juice.

Now add lemon and ginger in mixer and mix well. Lemon-ginger juice is ready.

Put vessel on gas. Add sugar and little water to make sugar syrup.

Now add lemon-ginger juice, 1/2 tea spoon yellow color and potassium metabisulfite and
mix well.

Store this lemon-ginger sharbat in bottle.

While serving, add one part of lemon-ginger sarbat and three part of water.

Mango Pickle Recipe: How to make Sweet pickle of Green Mangos? – कैरीचे गोड लोणचे

Ingredients –

Green Mangoes

Green Mangoes

Jeggary / Sugar – 750 gm

Oil – 100 gm

Red Chili Powder – 50 gm

Hing (Asafoetida) Powder – 1 table spoon

Rai Dal (Rai Kuria) – 10 to 15 gm

Methi(Fenugreek) Dal – 5 gm

Salt – 100 gm

Geera Powder – 5 to 10 gm

Acetic Acid – 5 ml

Procedure –

Wash the green mangoes thoroughly and dry them. Cut the mangoes into small pieces.

Heat the oil. Once the oil is heated, lower the flam of the gas.

Now add 1 table spoon hing powder, red chili powder, rai dal and methi dal in the oil.

Add pieces of Mangos in this hot mixture. Now increase the flam of the gas and cook the mixture till color of the mango pieces is changed. Add jeggary/sugar. Add remaining hing powder, red chili powder, rai dal, methi dal and salt. Cook this mixture for 10-15 minutes.

Turn off the gas and add Acetic Acid. Mix well and store it in sterilized jar.

Sweet pickle of Green Mangos is ready.

Instant snack: How to make instant shev/crispy shev?

Instant shev is an instant snack you can make in 15 minutes. Also it contains healthy ingredients and absorbs less oil.

Ingredients –

Bengal Gram flour / Chana Dal flour – 1 cup

Nachani (Eleusine coracana) flour – ½ cup

Soya bean flour (Soya flour) – ¾ cup

Salt – as per taste

Ajwain – as per taste

Black Pepper – as per taste

Garlic pest – as per taste

Oil

Water

Procedure –

Take Gram flour, Nachani flour and Soya bean flour in vessel. Then add Salt, Ajwain, Black Pepper and Garlic pest as per taste.

Make hard dough by adding small amount of water.

Take the oil in kadhai (Kadhai). Put karahi on the gas.

When oil is heated, make the shev from dough using shev maker and deep fry the shev.

Instant shev is ready in almost 15 minutes. Crispy shev is ready to serve.
